There are so many EV chargers and providers now. EarthronEV has come up with a vision to connect all the highways in India to interconnect tier 1, tier 2 and tier 3 cities. So far, they have acquired land between Delhi to Agra, Delhi to Chandigarh, and Delhi to Jaipur. Let us check the specifications of EarthronEV chargers and the facility review at Mayur Vihar, Delhi.
First Look At EarthronEV Charger
At Mayur Vihar, Delhi, this charger is located just beside the Indian Oil petrol pump. If you want to know the nearest EarthronEv charging point. You can use the ElectriFi app, which showed us all the charging points, and Mayur Vihar was nearest to our location.
At this EV charging station, we found 2 EarthronEV chargers. One was a slow charger Type-2 (AC), and the other was a fast charger with two ports (DC-001 and CCS2 DC). It is 24 24-hour open station, and you can also schedule your charging through the app, but we did not find anybody there for security or guardian at the station.
We reviewed the 60kW charger, which had 2 charging guns and there were 2 charging spots or parking spots available in front of the charger. The charging cost for 10 units was ₹200, which will take around 12 minutes for charging 10 units.
The charger is similar to other DC-CCS chargers, with a small digital screen and 4 indicators- power on, DC-01, DC-02 and AC with an emergency power cut knob below and an RFID feature.
EarthronEV DC-001 Charger
This charging port is not compatible with many EV cars. The charging cost was the same as DC-CCS2; 10 units will cost ₹200, and the time will be double the time taken by DC-CCS2. This means the charging cost is going to be the same, but the time with DC-001 will be double.
The features were almost similar to the DC-CCS2 charger. It also had 2 ports, an RFID feature and an emergency power cut knob. The port design was different as this DC-001 charger
Earthron Type-1 AC charger (Slow Charger)
There was a third charger, this was a slow charger, and only one vehicle could be charged at a time. It looked small in size and had only one port. There was an emergency power knob and RFID support, with a small screen that showed charging status.
The charging cost for charging 10 units it will take around 1 hour 45 minutes at ₹200 price.
Apart from these EV chargers, we found a 3-wheeler charger there, but no parking slot was available for an E-rickshaw. The facility for Battery swapping by Gogoro was also there.
Final Verdict
Overall, it is a proper charging station just like we have dedicated fuel pumps, with 3 types of EV car chargers found: DC-001, DC-CCS and Type-01 Ac charger. There were a total of 5 parking slots for 5 EV cars. A 3-wheeler charger was also there with Gogoro’s Battery Swapping facility. The area was not maintained. There were a lot of wrappers and litter, which was obviously thrown by EV owners, who might have waited there while charging. No care was taken, nor was a guard present. The charging cost was the same for all three types of chargers, but the time varied.
