How to charge your vehicle at Charging Station!!!!

Locate a Charging Station

First, you need to find a nearby charging station either through Google Maps or from your vehicle App. There are different types of charging stations, including Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4. 3 & 4 DC fast chargers. Level 1 chargers are standard household outlets and are the slowest also known as Dumb Charging, while DC fast chargers are the fastest. You can use smartphone apps, GPS navigation systems, or websites to locate charging stations in your area.

Check Compatibility

Ensure that the charging station is compatible with your EV’s charging port. Different EVs use different plug types, such as GB/T, CCS, CHAdeMO, or Tesla’s proprietary connector. Make sure the charging station supports your EV’s connector type and it is compatible with your vehicle.

Park Your EV

Position your EV in front of the charging station in reverse so that you can take your vehicle easily out of the charging station once it is charged, making sure your charging port is within reach of the station’s cable (reverse parking is best). Be considerate of other EV users and park in a way that doesn’t block other charging stations.

Unlock and Connect

Depending on the charging station, you may need to use a card, mobile app, or RFID key to unlock the charging station. Follow the instructions provided. Once the station is unlocked, you can connect the charging cable GUN to your EV’s charging port. Make sure the connection is tight & secure. With just one scheme Government of India has laid out the plan to deal with the Charging Infrastructure Problem using PM-eBus Sewa and rumours are that FAME 3 is around corner which will focus on EV charging infrastructure. The focus on the charging network will boost EV adoption across all regions. The public awareness campaign will do more justice to it.

Start Charging

After connecting the cable, some stations may automatically start charging, while others may require you to initiate the charging process through the station’s interface screen or your mobile app by scanning the QR code or approving the process. Most charging stations now these days have automated voices to help people in charging their vehicles.

Monitor Charging

While your EV is charging, you can monitor the progress on the charging station’s display or through the mobile app if available. It will typically display the charging rate, time remaining, and the amount of energy delivered.

Payment

Depending on the charging station, you may need to pay for the electricity consumed which can be of the same rate as per locality or slightly more depending on the charging station. Payment methods can vary and may include credit cards, mobile payment apps, or pre-registered QR codes to complete the payment.

Wait for Completion

Wait until your EV’s battery is adequately charged. Never charge it to more than 98%. Disconnect the cable once the charger allows you to remove the Charging. Gun from the vehicle. The time it takes will depend on your EV’s battery capacity, the charging rate of the station, and how much charge is needed. Don’t forget to re-rack the cable and charging gun on the mount provided. Safely exit the charging station, being mindful of other EV users. Remember that charging times can vary significantly depending on your EV’s battery size and the charging station’s power level. It’s a good idea to plan your charging stops ahead of time, especially on long trips, to minimize wait times. Additionally, always follow any specific instructions provided by the charging station and be considerate of other EV owners sharing the station.
